Simple compliance with VAT MOSS regulations for Magento. Automatically validates VAT in real time with VIES and sets 0% VAT for business transactions between VAT registered companies and/or with companies outside European Union.

Overview
As of 1st of January, 2015 for cross border supplies of digital services there is no registration threshold and VAT is charged at the rate due in the consumer’s country. However when selling to VAT registered company VAT is NOT charged. This extension automatically checks if customer is individual or business and validates VAT number in real time. Valid VAT numbers are NOT charged VAT and tax rate is automatically set to 0%.

Installation
This extension can be installed in a few minutes, by going through the following steps:
- Download/purchase the extension
- Unzip the file in a temporary directory
- Copy directory contents and paste it in your Magento installation root directory. This extension will NOT replace existing code.
- Go to your admin panel and clear cache. Hit refresh on any of your Magento pages and you're done.
Configuration
- Go to System -> Configuration -> Anowave Extensions -> VAT-MOSS Configuration
- Enter license key
- Save configuration
VAT MOSS Configuration
There are few steps that are required to configure the module. VAT Mini One Stop Shop (VAT MOSS) applies only for sales of digital services to consumers in the EU. Digital services may not be all types of products your sell, a configuration per product is required.
Configuring single product
- Go to Catalog -> Manage products
- Edit a product
- Open "VAT-MOSS Configuration" tab
- Set Is digital good? to "Yes"
Configuring multiple products
- Go to Catalog -> Manage products
- From Mass actions dropdown (top right) select "Set as digital good"
- Select "No" or "Yes" depending on your action.
- Click Update
