I like the hybrid approach implemented in the extension. Eventually we had to activate ScrapingBee API to overcome some restrictions imposed by CloudFlare and it worked incredibly nice. Good module, lot of charts and data.

Very good extension! Eventually we had to subscribe for a third party scraper to be able to retrieve prices behind CloudFlare. It needed some initial time for adjusting which products to watch but from then on everything worked smoothly. Using it for a few days and we now have some valuable insights.

User Guide & Documentation
Installation from Command Line
This extension can be installed in a few minutes, by going through the following steps:
- Download/purchase the extension
- Unzip the file in a temporary directory
- Copy directory contents and paste it in your Magento installation root directory. This extension will not replace existing code or file structure
- Enter the following at the command line:
php bin/magento setup:upgrade
php bin/magento setup:static-content:deploy (only if site is in production mode)
Installation and updating with Composer
You can install this extension via Composer only after purchasing a Composer support package
Run the following Composer commands
- composer require anowave/package
- composer require anowave/monitor
- bin/magento setup:upgrade
- bin/magento setup:static-content:deploy (only if site is in production mode)
Adding competitor URLs to track
To monitor competitor prices you need to define your competitor URLs for each product you need to track.
- Go to Admin / Catalog / Products and EDIT any product that you want to track prices for. On edit screen expand Smart Pricing & Competitor Monitoring panel. Once panel is expanded you shall see a list of already added competitor URLs plus a quick form to add new URLs. If you're here for the first time, the list will be empty and you shall see only the quick form.
- In the quick from Competitor URL paste any URL that you want to track. The competitor URL has to contain a product that is the same that you sell as well.
- Once URL is added click CREATE
The process is automatic, it will add the URL, it will fetch the price in real time and it will update the pricing grid automatically.
Scheduling & Automation
The extension comes with 2 built-in cronjobs (automated tasks) designed to reduce server load and provide unobtrusive operation.
- The first cronjob will run once per day (daily) and it's task is to collect all competitor URLs that you want to track into a fixed collection
- The second cronjob will run once every 2 minutes and it will fetch 10 URLs per iteration. This ensures that fetching (scraping) remote URLs will not put load onto your server due to process being distributed in time. With this configuration the extension by default is capable of fetching up to 7200 URLs every day. This limitation of course can be changed by either increasing the number of fetched URLs per iteration or reducing the fetch crobjob to once per minute.
Scraping APIs
In certain cases some sites use advanced tools like CloudFlare. In these cases, scraping through conventional tools is limited or not possible at all. To mitiagate this limitation, the extension provides a built-in support for the following scraping APIs

These APIs are designed to provide an automated mechanism for scraping web content. They can deliver outstanding results and provide 100% access to content and price information. They are usually subscription based with prices starting from $30/month for 100.000 requests. This is usually enough for monitoring up to 3000 invidual URLs/month
Scraping API Configuration
Configuring scraper is very simple and down to entering an API token obtained from the scraper of choice. The process from then on is fully automatic.
