Disables merging of abandoned carts with current checkout session while customers are shopping.
This simple extension will automatically clear old cart items and show the current session items to the customers. It will prevent abandoned cart products from merging with products from current basket.
If installed, the extension will clear all saved cart items at customer login.
Overview
By default Magento stores all customers cart contents and restores carts automatically at login. Sometimes however customers browse and add products to cart without being logged. Upon login, current cart contents gets merged with any previously stored cart items which may lead to confusion and impact conversion rates. While this is not necessarily bad, if you prefer to always show consistent cart contents to your customers, an action should be taken to prevent merging old items. This extension does this automatically once installed. When customers logic, it will automatically detect and flush old cart items and prevent them from merging with current cart items.
Abandoned cart items will still exist until customer logins again. This also allows for 3rd party extension related to abandoned cart reminders to work still.

Installation
This extension can be installed in a few minutes, by going through the following steps:
- Download/purchase the extension
- Unzip the file in a temporary directory
- Copy directory contents and paste it in your Magento installation root directory. This extension will NOT replace existing code.
- Go to your admin panel and clear cache. Hit refresh on any of your Magento pages and you're done.
