Sets default currency per customer and allows for adjusting currency display for each customer individually. Default customer currency can be set in customer edit screen.
With this module installed you can have number of configurations with regards to currencies. It's particularly useful for B2B shops, it can be used to remove currency switcher and still have multi-currency enabled store. It provides also mass actions allowing you to set default currency for multiple customers at once.
Overview
Default Customer Currency for Magento is an extension that allows for automatically setting the current currency based on current customers. It will change the displayed currency upon customer login if the logged customer has any default currency adjusted. It creates an extra option in customer edit screen allowing store owner to adjust default currency for each customer individually.

The module works as described and the support is excellent. What we liked about this little module is that although it sets the customer currency automatically it doesn't disable customers from switching back to preferred currency should they need to.

User Guide & Documentation
Installation
This extension can be installed in a few minutes, by going through the following steps:
- Download/purchase the extension
- Unzip the file in a temporary directory
- Copy directory contents and paste it in your Magento installation root directory. This extension will NOT replace existing code.
- Go to your admin panel and clear cache. Hit refresh on any of your Magento pages and you're done.
Setting default customer currency via mass action
You can use a new option available in customers' grid to set default currency for multiple customers at once. To use it, follow the steps below:
- 1. Go to Customers -> Manage customers
- 2. Select the customers you need to update by checking the checkboxes in each row
- 3. Click "Actions" dropdown in the top right corner of the grid
- 4. Select "Set default currency"
- 5. Select the desired currency
- 6. Click "Submit"
Setting default customer currency programmatically.
Once module is installed, you can use a very simple script to set default customer currency programmatically. Checkout below a really short snippet that does the job. As long as you have an array of customer ids and corresponding customers, the job becomes trivial.
Setting currency by URL
The module allows you to generate links to your store which will automatically set the currency. Find below a few examples
- https://<yourdomain>?currency=USD - Will set the currency to US dollars
- https://<yourdomain>/shoes.html?currency=USD - Will set the currency to US dollars for shoes category and future impressions
