This is a visionary extension for Magento 2 by Anowave which allows store owners to benefit from the very latest features of modern browsers and Push API in particular supported by Firefox, Chrome and Safari. It provides an alternative approach of keeping your customers engaged by pushing notifications to their browsers. The notifications work in both desktop and mobile versions of the browser regardless of the current tab opened.

Overview
Newsletter isn't dead but nowadays it's not the only way to reach out your customers. Chrome, Firefox, and Safari Push Notifications extension for Magento 2 allows store visitors to subscribe for browser notifications and get notified whenever something new happens in your store and/or you want to notify them about the latest news, recently added products etc.

How it works
Once installed, the website will trigger a browser notification permission request to your customer. If he/she decides to opt-in, the system will record his subscription and once you decide to send recent updates to your subscribers, the customer's browser will show a nice notification with the recent updates. The notification is controlled by the browser and will appear always regardless of the current tab. The notificaiton will also reach mobile versions of the browser and in effect appear in a mobile device as well.
Customers can subscribe for browser notifications via request permission popup shown automatically for them in their browsers. See Fig. 2 below.

Once a permission is granted, the customer will get subscribed for future notifications. Then when you have something to say to your customers, Magento 2 will automatically push the news to all subscribed customers. They will recieve a notificaiton directly in their browser. See Fig. 2 below.

Each notification allows customers to manage subscriptions and opt-out quickly should they need to.

User Guide & Documentation
Installation from Command Line (Recommended)
This extension can be installed in a few minutes, by going through the following steps:
- Download/purchase the extension
- Unzip the file in a temporary directory
- Copy directory contents and paste it in your Magento installation root directory. This extension will NOT replace existing code.
- Disable the cache under System->Cache Management
- Enter the following at the command line:
php -f bin/magento module:enable --clear-static-content Anowave_Package
php -f bin/magento module:enable --clear-static-content Anowave_Push
php -f bin/magento setup:upgrade
- Check under Stores->Configuration->Advanced->Advanced that the module is present.
Manual installation
- Download/purchase the extension

- Edit app/etc/config.php file and add two new elements:
"Anowave_Package" => 1,
"Anowave_Push" => 1

- Check under Stores->Configuration->Advanced->Advanced that the module is present.
Upgrading database
If you need to upgrade the database, run the following command line:
php -f bin/magento setup:db-schema:upgrade
